Game 12: Look on the bright side.

Yes, losing tonight stunk.  Yes, it was bad that our offense could only muster three runs, one of which came in the bottom of the 9th, which is literally the 11th hour.  Yes, it would have been better if Ivan Nova pitched better.

However, let’s look at some positives to come from this game.  One, our bullpen was fantastic.  They had to come in early, but they held the Rangers off, which is in this situation, what you want the bullpen to do.  Two, Derek got a couple more hits, which brings him to 62 more to go until 3,000, and Swish/Grandy had great nights at the plate.  Three, we got the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 9th.  Four……we ain’t the Red Sox.  No matter how bad we play, always remember that.  We’re not Boston.

Remember folks…..look for the silver lining.

The comeback fell a bit short tonight. What bothers me about this game is the lack of control by Nova. Granted, he is not going to be perfect, but he gave up only 4 hits. The 5 walks simply killed us. Had the walks been down to 2 in the same amount of innings, I am sure the score would have been a lot closer, in fact we probably would have won the game.

Thankfully the Os lost and right now the Bosox are behind 7-6 with one more inning to go.
